OUR HISTORY

FOUNDED IN 1999, ENERGETIC SOURCE HAS EVOLVED TO BECOME MORE STRATEGICALLY AND COMMERCIALLY FOCUSED ON SUPPLYING ENERGY AT HOMES, BUSINESSES AND CORPORATES

Since 1999, Energetic Source has evolved from a company providing electricity supply to large industrial customers to a group of companies covering the overall energy value chain gaining a strong presence in the energy market suppliers.

KEY MILESTONES

1999 - Legislative Decree 79/99 started the liberalization of the Italian energy market in Italy; a group of Italian young entrepreneurs is dealing with the startup of Energetic Source entering in the supply of large industrial customers.

2003 - Energetic Source starts natural gas trading activities

2006 - Energetic Source acquires Flyenergia S.p.A., a company founded in in 2002 and one of the first Italian supplier which offer a complete energy "package" (supply of electricity, gas and energy consultancy services) and focused on energy supply at home and small businesses

2007 - Renova Group takeover Energetic Source and create the conditions for a sustainable growth for the future of the company; In 2007, also Geogastock S.p.A starts its activity, established to develop and operate a new underground natural gas storage facility in the south of Italy (Basilicata); Geogastock S.p.A. is 100% owned by Energetic Source.

2010 - Energetic Source Group supplies natural gas and electricity to 100.000 customers

2011 - Energetic Source Group starts the production of electricity from traditional energy resources through a joint venture with Alpiq’s affiliate En.Plus, in a gas-fired, combined cycle power station in San Severo (province of Foggia, Italy) with an electrical capacity of 400 megawatts and a thermal capacity of around 700 megawatts

2012 - Group's revenue exceeded the 2 billion euro mark for the first time; Energetic Source Board of Directors approves the 2013-2015 Strategic Plan; On August 12, the Italian Ministry of Economic Development has granted Geogastock S.p.A. a concession to develop a natural gas storage site located in Matera province, named ‘Cugno le Macine stoccaggio’ (1.4 bcm).

2013 - Energetic Source Group continues its expansion in the major energy markets in Europe and in the opening of commercial and industrial relations with major international operators. Energetic Source strengthens its presence in the retail market by focusing on the most profitable target signature and an innovative agreement with the consumer associations to the full protection of the customer.
