ENERGETIC SOURCE AND THE ITALIAN STATE POLICE WORKING TOGETHER ON THE TABLET – SDI MOBILE PROJECT
Milan will be a safer city now thanks to the new Tablet –SDI Mobile project being carried out by the Italian State Police in conjunction with Energetic Source.
Thanks to this project the 250 motor vehicles of the Crime Prevention Department will all be fitted with a tablet with multiple operating functions which will enable vehicles to enter into direct contact with security force data banks and equipment in the operating rooms at police headquarters. In addition, the tablets will be able to exchange information with the operating room without using the radio channel and in the near future will also be able to transmit and receive images to facilitate the search for suspected criminals and lost persons.
This project, which is based on infrastructure owned by the State Police and deploys programs already in use, has also involved the collaboration of Energetic Source, which has purchased 290 tablets and lent these free of charge to the police, complete with recharging connections for use in patrol cars. In this way a perfect partnership has been achieved between the public and private sector which has enabled this important project to be carried out and which will lead to a considerable increase in the city’s overall security structure and to a service for the citizen.
“I am very pleased that we decided to collaborate in the Tablet – SDI Mobile project”, stated Carlo Bagnasco. “Mercury is something completely new because it is the first project that sees collaboration between a private company, Energetic Source, and a public body, the State Police, having a common objective: people’s safety. Like other businesses, Energetic Source is involved in a variety of corporate social responsibility activities, first and foremost sponsorships, but the Tablet Project represents the start of a new series of activities which are designed to increase the efficiency of the security forces and which as a result will also have positive effects for the city of Milan and its citizens”.
